Let’s review some fun and fresh fall outfits with jeans.
Jeans have evolved quite a bit since the Wrangler days. They’ve passed through the test of time for all categories with comfort, style and individuality. Denim can be affordable and versatile. Although there are many high fashion designers that use denim as well.
This 2024 season, you can see that there are lots of variations for outfits with jeans. For a long time jeans were the standard of casual. In current fashion they are easy to dress up or down. On the runway for Fall 2024 many designers showed their denim all grown up and ready for the red carpet.
The silhouettes are pretty much open to interpretation. Pants of every length and width, skirts, dresses, jumpsuits, jackets, shoes and bags are all in fashion this season. We have straight legs, flares, borders, high waist, low waist, and every shade of denim.
No fear in layering denim on denim. In fact, I was so excited when I got my Dolce Vita denim sneakers and I can keep them in the rotation for fall (I wrote about them here)! That is not to say in any way (in case my husband is listening) that I need not another pair.
This black denim wash, shown in Marie Claire’s feature article on Fall 2024 denim is tailored and looks so sharp.
Not all of us can spend a fortune on a Versace, so I love this dark denim Anthropologie Puff-Sleeve Denim Mini Shirt Dress. And you could wear this one for just about any occasion. And depending on what shoe you wear with it, you can create an entirely different look.
For years we have all been squeezing into that skinny jean. We welcome a fresh look that is still flattering but you can actually move and breathe. I am trading in my favorite pair of black or blue jeans for an updated dark denim. You can get a fantastic look with knee high boots and just a white tee.
Dark denim looks crisp but is also comfortable because it can be a lighter weight than regular denim. Dark denim is a treated fabric. This gives it a great shelf life and looks new for years. I love the dark denim jacket with dark denim pants.
If I’m wearing a long flared jean with a flat waistline, then a more fitted or short top and small jean jacket keeps the flow of the silhouette. And vice versa, a loose denim top with straight legs is more of a statement.
An easy way to look smart and a fashionable substitute for wearing a suit is a dark denim on dark denim combo. There are plenty of the Levi’s style jackets and other versions that are fashion forward. My particular favorite is Frame’s Safari Jacket.
The flared jeans of last year are now even more updated. We see flares with layers of frill, satin and lots of zippers.
For everyday wear I love a loose jumpsuit. These black denim overalls are super cute and casual like you could live in them. Jumpsuits are not just for summer as you can add a long sleeve or sherpa sweater and continue to live in it.
