70’s Glitter, 80’s Glam, 90’s Neon, all present at the Christian Cowan runway show, New York Fashion Week. No shortage of celebs attending this popular designer’s collection reveal. I personally, love the overstated textures of feathers, fluff and fantastic pizazz.
Christian Cowan’s pieces also included sequined jewel tones, transparent mesh (another 80s throwback), and iridescent, tie dyed, light pastel shaded dresses.
This is no understated, subtle fashion trend. Christian Cowan is making his splash on the fashion world this season with loud and proud yet still feminine with all of the bells and whistles. You certainly won’t be fading into any backgrounds in these designs. But every woman could use a fun and fancy favorite in their closet when the occasion calls for a red carpet dream.
The best updates are always the modernized fabrics that take retro into future and provide comfort with glitz. Lots of bare legs and slim strappy sandals. It’s all about the full tops this season with broad shoulders, flowing sashes and headwear with nude legs from hemline to heels. It’s amazing with this collection that it’s so eye catching and glamorous but still looks comfortable.
Looking somewhat like an exotic bird show, any selection from the Christian Cowan NYFW collection would cause a stir upon entry to even the most star studded affair. What an amazing transformation of a pullover hoodie to a head turning extravaganza in monochromatic bright, primary, pantone colors.
In addition to the flash and pan of the Cowan designs, there was an unmistakable presence of hot stars, front and center lining the runway. Among many were Meghan Trainer carrying a noteworthy show stopping giant satin bowed bag, Kat Graham, Karrueche Tran looking gorgeous in her own version of the nineties neon. And then there was the appearance of actress, Keke Palmer who was a shining star on the Christian Cowan runway.
But what outfit is complete without killer hair, makeup and nails?
Dashing Diva, an equal partner in crime for the glitziness of this Christian Cowan showing, put on the Ritz with their high fashion nail designs.
In fact, I was lucky enough to go behind-the-scenes at the show with them, where celebrity artist, Pattie Yankee, used Dashing Diva to create the stunning looks, using a combination of their Virtual Nails and custom Gloss Nail Strips. Which, I have to say…if you’ve never used, you’re missing out. They’re my secret weapon. It’s no wonder Pattie Yankee uses them for big shows like Christian Cowan; manicured nails with no dry time!? Yes please.
With Dashing Diva and Pattie Yankee balancing out the colors with black and white patterns, opulance and lots of sparkle, the models’ head-to-toe looks were complete.
