Hollywood has always been known for big, bouncy, beautiful hair and its stars have been the envy of women around the globe since the beginning: Veronica Lake, Farrah Fawcett, Jennifer Aniston. Girls around the world have grown up with hair envy of their favorite screen diva. Many a career has been marked by a famous hair do or color. But, let’s face it. Us, real women, who don’t have a team of ten getting us ready every morning, don’t wake up with the Farrah Flip naturally. Or have three hours to get ready in the morning before running out the door. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to wake up that way!
My hair, thankfully, has always had a great, wavy curl to it. And I love it! I’m lucky to have body that some people have to work for. But the downside is that with that great texture comes an extra pound of frizz and no chance of me rolling out of bed with perfect hair unless I had a blowout the day before. That said, with a busy schedule like mine, I wanted a solution that didn’t involve having to go to the salon frequently for maintenance, yet would still give me great hair.
We all dream of having a hairstyle that our hair doesn’t naturally do. That’s why we strip it, dye it, style it, and blow it out.
For me, that dreamy out of bed hairstyle would be long, lush and multi tonal blonde. So since my hair is not naturally blonde, this dream has to have a little “help”. I’ve been around the hair salon and DIY color block more than a few times. Unfortunately, every time I go blonde slowly and in stages (which is advised by every hairstylist I’ve ever met), and when my hair dries it feels like straw and breaks. My hair can’t handle all that bleach.
What if there were a way that I could have long hair that didn’t break from styling and bleach?
What if there were a way to get a bombshell blowout look on a daily basis?
That’s where Hairdreams comes in. With Hairdreams, you can thicken your hair, take care of bald patches, wear it long, get more volume for fine hair, lenghthen the wearing period or realize any other fantasy hair dream you may have. Since I’ve discovered Hairdreams it’s the closest I’d get to getting out of bed with a fabulous style. After the initial process of putting the extensions in, you can enjoy your newfound style like it was your own.
You also have to love Hairdreams for using ethically-sourced, 100% imperial quality real human hair extensions, in its natural color (not 100 Remy that was pre colored), non-coated, so it blends seamlessly with your natural hair. This company is extremely quality-controlled so the end result of the Hairdreams extensions is top notch and worth every penny. And of course, much more affordable than having the team of ten stylists for hair care in your bathroom every morning. 😉
WHY HAIRDREAMS IS DIFFERENT
There are a lot of hair extension options out there. Before Hairdreams, I had done the tape-ins (the grown up version of clip in hair extensions) in the past. I love tape-ins! But it is high maintenance, can get gooey after a couple weeks, and can look cheap fast if you don’t maintain it well. It also looks terrible grown out, since the tape is sandwiching your hair in large chunks.
Hairdreams are put in small, evenly weighted amounts of hair with a plastic coating around your natural hair. It took about an hour for my full head of hair as the bondings are put in with their patented Hairdreams Laserbeamer Nano. It’s like a hair gun that allows for rapid application of the nano extensions, up to five hair strands simultaneously.
MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR
My first impression was, this feels like my own permanent hair. This LOOKS like my own hair. HOW? How can this feel like my own natural hair!? It was so exciting because I told my wonderful stylists, Tanya Lange and Erin Hayden, that I wanted an ombré style so I could have beachy blonde waves; they nailed the look–something I could never get right with my own natural hair or tape in extensions. My second reaction was something they prepared me for. That came when I tried to sleep on it for the first week. The bondings are tight against my head. I needed a pillow for my bondings. Stat.
They sent me home with shampoo, conditioner, shine products, and a brush so my hair would last. They said for me, this will probably last three months, but it can last up to six. With my schedule, I intend to take super good care of this hair and have it last as long as possible. But there are a variety of factors: how fast my hair grows, how oily my scalp is, how often I style it with hot tools, and if it still looks good with my hair growth no matter if I style my hair down or put my hair up. We’ll see.
So far I wake up every morning with great hair. The quality of the hair with Hairdreams is quite the phenomenon. Every night I go to sleep with my hair braided, and every morning I spray it with leave-in conditioner, brush it out, and am left with beautiful beach waves that blend seamlessly with my own hair. I get non-stop compliments on how beautiful my hair is–something that doesn’t usually happen. But strangely, no one seems to notice it’s not my own hair! That’s how well it blends.
One thing I really hated about tape-ins was my limited hairstyle options. I couldn’t put it up–the tape would show. I couldn’t do a ponytail–the tape would show. Basically, I could wear it down, braid it loosely, or do pigtails as long as it was loose enough that my scalp didn’t show anywhere.
Though I still try to make sure my scalp doesn’t show, the hairstyles I can do are endless! I LOVE my hair every day and get excited about it. Hairdreams is revolutionizing the hair industry with their bonding system–and you can only get it done through a Hairdreams Partner, which you can find here.
WHAT I WANT OUT OF MY EXTENSIONS
A lot of people fall into the trap of thinking that extensions are bad for your hair. This is like saying going to the dentist is bad. If you don’t go to a professional, bad things can happen! If you go to a trusted professional, it’s an entirely different story.
While wearing Hairdreams, it can actually protect hair and allows me to grow it out, since the styling will mostly not be on my own hair. My extensions will act like a shield, wrapping around my own hair to help assist in natural growth. I’m excited that these extensions are supposed to “grow out” with my hair. They don’t have to be moved up. And they don’t have to be taken out for three to six months!

OMG I’ve had that tape nightmare too.

Yes, the tape can get so bulky and sticky and not ideal for a long term situation IMO. 😉 Thanks for commenting!

Have you had them removed yet? Any damage? Any regrets?
Michaell says
Hi B, I have had them removed! And I wore them for about 4 years and loved them. Great quality. My only regrets were I should’ve done less extensions on my head and varied placement a little more. I’ve since switched to a micro extension approach and that’s been much better on my hair and scalp. It was feeling a little heavy and I don’t think that was great for my hair–you can’t cut the Hairdreams extensions because they use a gun. They should’ve been cut in half for the ones around my crown and in front. My hair was a little stressed after so long and so many.
So my advice is mostly for fine hair. If you have fine hair, make sure you discuss your hair type don’t let them put too many of this type of heavy extension right in front every time you get them. If you have coarse hair, I think your hair can probably handle it.
