For years, I relied on regular strip false lashes with glue. However, the process became so tiresome. Between the dry time, the constant adjusting, and the meticulous trimming of the strip lashes, they became more of a hassle than a convenience. I even started using magnetic lashes, but they were not comfortable enough to wear on a daily basis.
I have very light colored and straight lashes that require a lot of effort to appear full and voluminous. The idea of being able to wear lashes for multiple days so I look *somewhat* put together in a hurry was incredibly appealing to me! That’s when I stumbled upon Lashify and it sounded like the perfect answer to my lash woes.
The anticipation of having my very own home lash extension system was thrilling. I couldn’t wait to try it out. I ordered the Lashify Control Kit which includes 2 sets of Gossamer lashes, a fuse control wand, their Whisper Light Bond (glue) and Waterproof Sealer all for $125. The Control Kit is very customizable and feels very luxurious, much like salon lash extensions. You can choose from 3 sets of lashes with different Gossamer styles, multiple Gossamer lengths and 2 different fuse wand shapes.
Okay, the big questions! Do they work? Are they worth the price? Do they last? Yes to all!!
The application process is definitely a learning curve. I’ve applied multiple lashes on myself and other people, but it still took me a few tries to get their system down. The interesting thing about Lashify is that unlike traditional strip lashes that go on top of your lash, you put the lashes under your natural lash.
Thankfully they have a very interactive App with multiple videos on how to achieve the look you want–basically a ‘Lashify how to’ and more.
Once I got it down, I can now apply my lashes in about 5-10 minutes.
My New Makeup Routine
I had to tweak my “getting ready” routine a bit after getting my lashes on. My face wash is oil-based, which would mess with the lash adhesive, so I had to be super careful around my lashes. But my makeup routine itself? Easy peasy! Tinted moisturizer, blush, lips—done!
And if I felt like adding eye makeup, like eyeliner on my lash line or eyeshadow, no problem! The lashes stayed perfectly in place while I applied concealer with a Beauty Blender, liquid liner, and shadow. Effortless beauty, all day long!
Sleeping in Lashify Lashes
The only issue I ran into was that I am a side sleeper! So I did have to fix my corner lash once I woke up. But it was a very easy fix! I was very worried about sleeping with them on. I was convinced I would feel them while asleep. I felt nothing! I actually woke up, rubbed my eyes and remembered “oh!! I have lashes on! Don’t do that!”
How I adjusted my lashes after sleeping on them
I fixed the lash by removing the piece that was falling off. I actually joined the Facebook group and got a lot of tips. You just add their glue to a clean gossamer and refuse with the wand.
How to remove Lashify Lashes
Taking off the lashes is as easy as pie. I used their remover, but you can use any oil based makeup remover. Soak a cotton round, put it on your lashes, let it sit and they slide right off. So easy! Removing my regular makeup but leaving Lashify on was easy as well. I use Makeup Eraser towels (oil free!) and water. As long as you are gentle around your lashes, they stay on!
How to Clean Lashify Lashes
You can also sterilize and reuse the lashes! Soaking them in 99% alcohol removes bacteria and the glue. The thicker the lash, the more you can rewear them.
My exact cleaning process: I soak them in a bowl of 99% alcohol for about a half hour. Then I take the gossamers on a paper towel and a small make up brush. I dipped the make-up brush in the alcohol and wipe-off any excess glue. I let them dry and they are good to reuse.
Exactly How Long Does Lashify Last?
As for wearing them multiple days, you definitely can! I had a few easy touch ups here and there, but they honestly stay on, even after a shower.
As for the side sleeping, I actually only had to redo the edge lash only once! I personally wear them for 5-7 days. Then wash and re use them. Once you wash them, you can tell that some do not wash well because they start falling apart. There are more delicate ones and then there are thicker ones that wash very well and hold up for a long time.
Will these damage your natural lashes?
As far as I know, they do not bind to your natural lash. The two adhesive act almost like magnets to each other. I have actually woken up in the middle of the night and been frustrated with the placement of a lash and taking it off without the remover. I didn’t lose any lashes doing that, but I would not suggest doing it. I personally have not noticed any increase of my lashes falling out. A lot of people on the Facebook group say that they like using Lashify because it has helped their natural lashes be protected and grow.
I honestly love this system and I think it is so fun. I love that you can try all of the different Gossamer styles and lengths to achieve different looks. They have ones that are more dramatic and long, or ones that are more natural and wispy.
Once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are truly endless. This DIY at-home lash extension kit is far more customizable than any strip lash and offers a result that’s closer to professional lash extensions.
Will I continue to use Lashify? Well, I just received a new set of Plushy 13 and Plushy 14 and I can’t wait to get them on!
