As soon as you enter the The Viceroy, New York on 57th street across from the radio city music hall, you are swept away to another time. An elegant design with strong lines set in black brick, steel frames and honey stained wood. The stylistic design of the dark, wood panelled walls makes you feel as if you are in the middle of a film noir.
If you’ve been to the Big Apple, it’s typical to find rather small rooms, but this luxury hotel was the exception with a generously-sized guest room suite for midtown Manhattan, complete with a sofa. I loved the luxurious beds dressed in white, Egyptian cotton linens and the gorgeous city views framed in vintage black panes.
The bed was so comfy and I treated myself to an early breakfast while gazing out the window, getting ready to take on the day.
I could have lounged forever in the marbled, black and white tiled bathroom with the waterfall rain shower head. I found myself wishing I could spend just a little longer freshening up with the fantastic toiletries, a treat for both my hair and my body. My favorites were the Natura Bisse White Tea Bath Foam and the ROIL Shine Conditioner.
Though my mornings were delightful, the nightly turndown service was a special treat after a long day hitting the NYC pavement. No sound systems getting through these walls! It was incredibly peaceful going to sleep without any noise–not even from the affluential and millennial-filled rooftop bar–The Roof.
The Roof, which you can only get to by elevator after 5pm, splashes brass, rich leather seating and walls of glass to help you take in the best 360 of the New York City skyline and upper west side buzz. I enjoyed my “Stormy Mule,” a small batch house cocktail made of brugal anejo, lime juice and ginger juice. I loved the delightfully fresh Tuna Tartare Tacos with smoked Chipotle mayo all from a bird’s-eye view of central park. Exactly what I had hoped for from this trendy lounge and outdoor terrace.
In contrast, are the intimate indoor spaces where I sipped my morning coffee and read the paper in peace and quiet. The Viceroy Hotel was the perfect landing spot for my quick trip to NYC. Their complimentary Wi-Fi and business center were very convenient and helpful for getting my writing and work completed on the road.
The gourmet dining at Kingside, also available for room service, combines small plates, sushi and the best of American cuisine in a casual street level setting. They encourage sharing your locally sourced entrees for two, but I selfishly devoured, all by myself, my Poke Bowl (tuna, avocado, radish, pickled shiitakes & brown rice) and Bigeye Tuna Roll.
Now, I’m ready to head out for my stroll in Central Park New York. All in walking distance, I can do a quick loop past Carnegie Hall, down 5th Ave., and around Lincoln Center to get me going. Or maybe take an Uber to Times Square or the Empire State Building for an iconic adventure. So thankful for another memorable stay in one of my favorite hotels in New York, a #livingplum hot spot.
This Viceroy New York Hotel review was sponsored by the hotel, however, all opinions are my own. I love this hotel and asked for them to sponsor my stay.

I’ve been looking for a larger room hotel in New York. This looked perfect! It’s so sad they closed.
